In the heart of Barcelona, in the Dreta de l’Eixample neighborhood, Sentir Studios is much more than a recording studio: it’s a space rich in history, experiences, and recordings that have left their mark. Founded in the 70s by Albert Moraleda with the original name of Estudis Moraleda, it quickly became a benchmark in the city, hosting some of the most prominent artists of the time.
Sound with soul and history
Estudi 84
In the 1980s, the studio became Estudi 84, adding a second recording studio, still in operation, in the building’s basement. During the 1990s, it established itself as one of Barcelona’s most in-demand studios, with our friend David Casamitjana (the sound engineer in the photo) leading most of the productions.
Weekends were filled with recordings of coblas (traditional Sardana musical ensembles), followed by countless habanera groups. Weekdays were devoted to productions for TV3 and an endless array of professional projects. Back then, if you wanted a quality recording, you had to go to a studio.
From 2005 to the present
Since 2005, with Lluís Molas (sound engineer, musician, and founder of PERCUMUSIC®) at the helm, the studio has enhanced its soundproofing, optimized its spaces, and installed top-quality equipment.
With the partnership of musician and producer Aurelio Morata and, more recently, Raül Fernández (Refree), Sentir Estudios has established itself as a leading space for music production in the city.
